Hi Jamie! I think they were a balance between the two! (It’s possible to be strict *and* kind)

You can be both strict and kind. My parent expected me to try my best and were sometimes a little strict about me going out in the evenings but they were also quite understanding about a lot of things.

I think that they were a bit of both – they made me work hard at school by telling me that they would be disappointed if I didn’t, which is the worst thing to be!

A bit of both, I guess what I thought was really strict when I was a teenager was probably kindness to stop me getting into trouble.

Parents were kind and supportive and gave me the start in life that was as best could be in achieved in post war UK .

Gave me guidance and let me choose what I wanted to do even though my Mum was more pro humanities than sciences.

Suffice to say that I got to where I am based on the foundations that were laid for me by them

May not have got into University which was my dream but still finished of with qualifications which lead me to build a good career.

My parents were both. They were very strict on me being polite and being friendly and nice to other people. They were kind when it came to allowing me to spend time with my friends and have some independence 🙂 They have always been very understanding as long as I was being reasonable. I am glad they were strict about my manners and how I behave because if they hadn’t been so strict I wouldn’t have understood how important it is to be a nice person 🙂

My parents were strict. My dad was disabled and I had to keep my things tidy in the house, the floors had to be clear for example because he couldn’t walk well and fell easily. I helped with things round the house and garden because I wanted to, but also learnt some great skills and a very positive attitude to life!

My parents are very kind, I think they’d let me get away with anything really and they will always help me out, but I think what’s more important is that they’ve always inspired me and encouraged me to learn about things from lots of different sources, which has always lead to me wanting to do well for myself, not just to make them happy 🙂 Though I like to think they are proud, and they deserve that because they are so lovely!
