I used to play the cello and the piano but I don’t think I’m very good anymore because I don’t have much time to practice. I’ve also been trying to learn to play the violin and I’m really terrible at it. I feel really sorry for my neighbours!
I have played the keyboard, guitar and tin whistle (Irish instrument) when I was younger. I never got any lessons for the keyboard, I used to watch video on youtube to learn how to play my favourite songs at the time! I secretly would love to be able to play the piano properly 🙂 Do you play any instruments?
I play the piano and have done since I was 6 years old and used to sing a bit (though my voice has considerably deteriorated in recent years …) At one point I was considering a career as a musician. I’ve played in a couple of bands and in the pit in musicals (as well as on stage!). I love playing though even if it’s just for me nowadays. I can’t imagine life not being able to do it. It’s incredibly important to have something else in life other than just chemistry!
I have played trumpet for years, I really enjoy the interaction with other musicians when performing as a group – it’s just fab. I played euphonium and baritone in brass bands too when I was at school, which is fun but more serious. Have to confess to hating scales practice, but love playing lead trumpet because you have to be louder and play higher notes than everyone else!
Also I play guitar, but badly.
