Hi Ben! During my PhD I made a number of natural products which are molecules that are made in nature. One of the families I made were made by wheat plants and very similar molecules are used as medicines in diabetes and a storage disease. I also made some molecules that had never been made before but have been found in the roots of an Asian herb. This is the best part of chemistry for me – making things that no one has ever made before!
