      Nope! It originates in wild animals such as bats 🙂
      This is the case for all well-known viruses and bacteria. They just occur in nature and in order to survive they adapt to infect other animals and humans!

      Is there enough proof to decide yet? I understand that they are doing investigations in China now to locate the origin of it. Scientists across the world believe different things. I hope that it hasn’t been developed by humans. It’s interesting that in 2015 Bill Gates predicted that it would be a highly infectious virus, not war that would wipe out millions of people across the planet and we wouldn’t be prepared enough. Maybe it’s just coincidence!

      It is likely though it was naturally occurring from bats via and intermediate host. The virus is so similar to that found in bats that it is possible. I know that the genome sequencing on the virus does not indicate any man-made alterations from any samples that have been studied.

      The evidence we have right now suggests it came from nature but scientists are still investigating. I think it’s really unlikely that its made by humans.
