Hi! I’ve not really had many jobs yet, so I can’t say if it’s my ‘favourite’, but being a scientist is definitely loads of fun. Every day is different so you never get bored, and you get to work with so many different people along the way!

Yes, but actually for me being a scientist just means I question how things work in the world around me. So whatever job I have I will always be a scientist. If I was a hairdresser I would (be terrible but also) interested in what chemicals we use to dye people’s hair and how the chemistry of the smells of products work. I like reading things in the news and trying to decide if I think people have enough evidence for the things they claim.

I’ve had a few different jobs but being a scientist is by far my favourite! You’re always learning and you have so many cool opportunities.

      Hey!
I have to say of all the jobs I’ve ever done it is my favourite. Before I went to University I had several jobs like working in bars, at a shop, doing deliveries, working in a nursery. But during my chemistry degree I got to spend one of the years working at a chemical company instead of studying. It was called a work experience year, like when you’re at school and you spend a week or two doing a job for experience. This was the first time I had a job where I worked as a scientist and it was my favourite job at that time by far! Also, it meant after being a student for a few years, and not having much money, I got to work full time and earn money, whilst also learning lots and lots of new chemistry.
Having the opportunity to go and work in a company like that was fantastic, and a really good reason to go to University as it was a work experience option that I would not have had otherwise, and led to me realising how much I enjoyed working as a scientist!

Hi! Being a Scientist has been my dream since my childhood and now that it became my full-time job I can confirm that is really fun and everyday is entirely different. It often involves the development of other skills and abilities (IT, finance, project management, etc) that are not very science-related, but can be used to make your everyday life much easier.

Ever since my football career went down the pan, I knew I was going to be a scientist. I like to get my teeth into problems where there isn’t an obvious answer.
