• Question: Have you given names to these crystals? If yes, which one is your favourite and why?

      I’m not making any new crystals – the structure of everything I grow is already known – so I don’t get to name anything, sadly! I just asked my co-worker, who does look for new crystals in her work. She said that they don’t name the crystals anything exciting, just describe them by the molecules that make them up. But she does have a favourite crystal she’s discovered, which looks like a flower when you zoom in on the structure!

    The medicines I try to make to treat different types of cancer are sometimes crystals! I get to name them because they are new, but unfortunately I don’t get to give them a cool name! I have to name them according to their chemical structure. But I love how they look- the nicest ones I have made are orange or red. There are some photos of them on my profile under the ‘my typical day’ tab if you are interested in having a look 🙂
