I am obsessed with music, and love to see it live whenever I can. I also love cooking, and often get my housemates to test my kitchen creations. Football was my sport growing up, and I am a keen Liverpool supporter.
I recently graduated from studying Chemistry at university here in the UK and in Australia, and love to talk about science and how we can use it to improve the world.

I recently graduated from university with a degree in Chemistry, and now work in different labs across the country, on lots of different things.
Chemistry looks at how we make and break chemicals, and how we can use those chemicals for useful purposes, like creating better batteries for electric cars, recycling plastic waste, or making life-saving medicines.
I mainly work in a lab (with a white coat and glasses!), and use my science knowledge to try and make these chemicals in a better way. Ask me about renewable energy, recycling, or other environmental questions!
-
My Typical Day:
I cycle in to work, and most days I will put on my lab coat and glasses and enter my lab. Here I will do whatever experiments I have planned for the day, which is exciting because a lot of the time nobody has ever done them before. Its a bit like cooking, but with much more dangerous ingredients! I will then try and learn from my experiments, and get ideas for what to do next.

I usually cycle to work between 7:30 and 9:30, depending on when I need to be in that day.
I’ll have a cup of tea, and have a chat with my work colleagues, before putting on my safety glasses and lab coat and entering the lab.
Here I will continue with an experiment I have been working on, or set up a new experiment. This usually involves weighing out chemicals and mixing them together, a bit like baking a cake, but with lab gloves on.
After my experiment is finished I will look at my results and work out what chemistry has happened. This lets me plan out more experiments, or explain what has happened to other people I work with. Sometimes I will have meetings to talk about science I am looking at, and how we can use it to make exciting improvements to the world.
